The Soloists
The soloists on this recording are of the highest calibre.
Grace Davidson made her Wigmore Hall debut in summer 2008, and is a member of The Sixteen, Tenebrae, The English Concert, The Gabrieli Consort, Ensemble Plus Ultra and Ex Cathedra, touring regularly both as a soloist and consort member.
Elizabeth Weisberg appears regularly on both the concert and the opera platforms, with conductors such as Sir Roger Norrington, Iván Fischer, Emmanuelle Haïm, Trevor Pinnock, Christopher Robinson, Nicholas Cleobury, David Hill and John Rutter.
Mia Cooper was principal first violin of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra for five years and is now leader of the RTÉ Concert Orchestra in Dublin.
New London Soloists Orchestra
New London Soloists Orchestra was founded by its Musical Director, Ivor Setterfield, in 1992. Comprising some of the Capital’s most talented and exciting young musicians, it quickly developed a reputation as a virtuosic ensemble in its own right and is now established as a professional orchestra with a regular season of London concerts and an international following.
New London Soloists Orchestra is an extremely versatile ensemble and performs a diverse repertoire. The orchestra has performed at all the major London venues including the Royal Festival Hall, Barbican Hall, Cadogan Hall and Royal Albert Hall.
Despite performing on modern instruments, the New London Soloists Orchestra’s sound can be described as ‘period performance in spirit’ – fresh, direct and full of energy.
‘… a polished, professional and thoroughly enjoyable collection of some of Vivaldi’s best-known choral works.’
